Pipo M9 only boots into upgrade mode (screen remains black/off)

    Hello,

I already posted into another thread, but I guess it could be a more common problem. I just received my new Pipo M9 (shipped from china this saturday) and unfortunately I couldn't let my fingers from the new firmware 20130430 and the rooted 20130422.
I followed the instructions and everything ends with the same behavior.

    **********Upgrade Action**********

    **********Upgrade Done Success<0> Fail<1> Time<23135>ms**********

At first I tried the newest firmware 20130430. Without success, but at least it still booted up. After that I gave the rooted version 20130422 by Hejira a shot. The log always looks the same, but after that it didn't boot up anymore. If I push the power button it just boots into upgrade mode (the RKBatch Tool device field is instantly green).
I already tried it on different PCs, different cable, different rom versions (started from 20130315) and did an IDB erase via RKAndroid Tool.
The only thing I didn't try is to flash a stock rom with the RKAndroid Tool. Is there a simple way to do that?

    Thanks for your help!

Are you sure you have an V2 tablet of the M9 and not the first version? Maybe you could try that out?

Re: Pipo M9 only boots into upgrade mode (screen remains black/off)

    !!!Problem SOLVED!!!
Sometimes it so easy... I had to use and install RK Batch Tool v1.7 (chinese Version from Pipo homepage) and install the new driver version 3.5. After that I was able to install stock version PCB(V1.2)_20130430. Now everything is fine again.
After that I gained root access with TPSparkyRoot, but I had to install the ADB Driver with Moborobo. Secondary install and excecute SuperSU and Busybox and that's it.
Well, I guess now there are at least 3 Versions of the Pipo M9. That's not very helpfull...

PS: I tried Versions for V1 and V2 before, without success. Now I'm happy with 20130430 and don't want to try things. But I guess now there's V3 around...

The RK BATCH TOOL only works with the tablet connected to the PC right?

I haven't received my PIPO yet and I'm trying to get familiar with everything and I have downloaded that tool from pipo official web site.
When I try to execute the progra gives a error message "failed to load config.ini" or something.
Then I close that popup window and the program start in Chinese...
    Am I doing something wrong?

I dont think it really matters if you don't have the config.ini. You can change the language by starting the program up and by clicking on the most left button.

well, this is the message I get everytime I try to run RKBatchTool.exe

Then I hot close and the program start in chinese.
If I click on the far bottom left button the program crashes and closes....
    I'm testing this on a Windows 8 Pro x64.
Both my computer at home have this same system. Could be it, therefore compatibility issues?

Simply rename the folder containing the tool, deleting the chinese signs. Worked for me

Re: Pipo M9 only boots into upgrade mode (screen remains black/off)

Hi to all, I'm awaiting my unit from China and with the different versions I have a few questions: 1. Do the various version of tablets all have 4.2 jb now or are versions being left behind? 2. Has anyone been able to load the English vision on a Chinese tab m9? " although I'm sure you can just select English language". How is the Chinese m9 acting with selecting English, do you still have any Chinese characters issues? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Changing the languade and setting default language is simple.

4.2 has been released for V2 only. V1 might be left behind, but Pipo is one of the better tablet companies for firmware support. Very few people have a V1 tablet.
